Preparing for Tax Season

As we begin preparing for the 2025 tax season, we want to ensure you are aware of the digital resources at your disposal. We are delighted to provide multiple secure platforms for seamless collaboration with your YHB team members, regardless of your location. Our aim is to make your experience with us as convenient and safe as possible. 

In the coming weeks, you may receive emails from one of these platforms: 

  • SafeSend Gather: For individuals, we use SafeSend Digital Organizers delivered to you through SafeSend Gather, enabling you to complete your organizer online and attach tax documents for preparation. This even allows you to upload documents by simply taking pictures with your phone, with no need for app downloads. 
  • SafeSend Returns: SafeSend allows us to securely deliver your returns (business and individual) for digital signature. All Individual, Business, and Fiduciary Engagement letters will also be delivered via SafeSend Returns for electronic signature. 
  • ShareFile: ShareFile offers a convenient and secure way to transmit confidential and sensitive information to our YHB Team.

Key Dates for On-Time Filing 

If your YHB team member does not receive the required information by the below dates, we will likely need to file an extension: 

  • Businesses – February 18th  
  • Individuals – March 15th  

To stay on track for timely filing, please provide all the necessary information by the above dates enabling us to complete your return on time. If not all information is received by this date, it is likely your return will require an extension. If an extension is necessary, our team will assist in determining any payments required. 

Remaining Diligent – Protect Your Personal Information   

We also want to remind you to remain diligent in protecting your private information. Below are some best practices to help keep your information secure. 

  • Do not send sensitive files or information as regular attachments in an unsecured e-mail or text message. 
  • Never open e-mails from addresses you do not recognize. 
  • Always verify the sender and person you are replying to is from a URL you recognize (ex: @YHBcpa.com). 
  • Never open attachments from a person/company you do not know.  
  • If you are ever unsure the message is legitimate, contact the person or company it was sent from using a number or email address known to be correct.
