Winchester, VA (May 25, 2017) — The shareholders of Yount, Hyde and Barbour (YHB) have voted to admit Matthew Smith as principal into the Firm effective June 1, 2017.
“Matt has been a key player at YHB for the past nine years,” said Scott Moulden, President of YHB. “His path to becoming a partner was made clear in his continual dedication to excellence in serving our clients as well as his relentless effort in helping grow the firm.”
Matt is a 2008 Radford University graduate and longtime resident of the Shenandoah Valley. Since joining the Firm, he has focused his efforts on providing audit, review, compilation and tax services to companies that are primarily construction and real estate related. This specialization has helped to give him a strong understanding of accounting and tax issues that are unique to the construction industry.
“I’m thankful to be given the responsibility of partner at such a well-respected Firm like YHB,” said Matt. “During my time here I’ve worked hard to uphold the quality of work and dedication to clients and community that was established 70 years ago by our founders. I am humbled to have this opportunity and look forward to growing YHB.”
Matt will remain in YHB’s Winchester office while he serves clients throughout Virginia. The firm now has a total of 24 principals dispersed throughout 7 locations.
