Amy has over nine years of combined experience in public and industry accounting, primarily concentrated in the construction industry. She began her career at YHB after graduating #1 in her class from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Information Systems. Amy focuses on providing trusted tax and advisory services to businesses of all sizes, as well as their owners.
Amy quickly gravitated towards construction and real estate clients when she began her career at YHB working on both tax and assurance engagements. Over the years, she has advanced to focus almost exclusively on providing tax compliance, planning, and advisory services for construction related entities. She brings additional knowledge in forecasting, budgeting, financial reporting, and general ledger analysis from her experience in private accounting. Her broad skill set combined with her deep familiarity with the industry makes her a valued resource for both business owners and their companies.
Amy enjoys building meaningful relationships with her clients and believes trust and familiarity help ensure efficient, accurate results. Clients rely on her not only for her technical knowledge, but also for her ability to break down complex issues and provide proactive, strategic guidance.
Amy is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants. Amy also currently serves as Treasurer for the American Subcontractors Association of the Shenandoah Valley.
Outside of work, Amy enjoys spending time outdoors with her son, staying active, live music, and cooking.
