“I really enjoy working with clients to figure out ways for them to succeed, both financially and strategically. I’m very willing to serve as a sounding board they can call on at any time for feedback on their ideas or help in addressing an issue that suddenly sprung up. I also enjoy helping clients grow through mergers and acquisitions, and making sure the decisions they are making work to their advantage.”

Professionalism you can count on

Experience

Greg joined Yount Hyde Barbour in 2005, after working for eight years at PriceWaterhouseCoopers in Washington, DC, where he provided assurance services to public companies, healthcare organizations, and nonprofits. At YHB, he has focused his practice on providing audit and consulting services to public and private companies in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, distribution, franchising, technology and healthcare. He also heads our Healthcare Organization and Senior Living Industry teams.

Expertise

Because he has served many public companies, Greg has a strong understanding of pertinent audit procedures and requirements, including Sarbanes-Oxley 404 reporting. And because he has worked with a number of major healthcare organizations, he is familiar with their unique accounting, audit and reporting needs, as well as industry benchmarks and best practices. Greg therefore excels at analyzing financial statements and ratios, and advising clients about ways to improve their accounting procedures and internal controls. He also is highly effective at assisting clients with mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, and internal audits.

Approach

For Greg, frequent and timely conversations with management are essential for developing an understanding of a client’s needs and challenges. Open communication with the audit committee throughout the year helps Greg identify areas to investigate and ensure the audit addresses the client’s concerns. His goal is to deliver a no-surprise audit characterized by a high degree of interaction with the client, which facilitates quick response to any issues and efficient completion of an audit or other engagement.
