As an accounting firm we’re know for being practical – we help our clients and our community alike. We also have a community within YHB where we have fun. Read some of the ways we are currently giving back to the community while having a great time.
Food Bank Donations. Since September 2009 YHB has gathered over a ton of food for our community food banks. This journey began with the VSCPA Day of Service. As a firm we have come together for one cause and served our community. Click here to read how we gathered donations.
Virginia Regional Chamber Community Leadership Program – Kim Burch from our Winchester office was selected to participate in this year’s Top of Virginia Regional Chamber Community Leadership Program. Each month we will follow her journey through the program. Her stories will be featured in our e-newsletter. Click here to subscribe.
Firm Day – YHB held our annual Firm Day in September. All of our staff meet in one place for a day of learning and laughter. This year we held a video contest. Each team completed a three-minute video to show how they work together toward a common goal. You can see one of these videos on our Heritage & Culture page. We’re able to place faces with names and voices with whom we work all year. It is a great day to celebrate YHB.
Stride Through Time – YHB sponsors and participates in the Historically Healthy Tour of Richmond, Virginia. The YHB family has found this to be a great way to support our community and build teamwork. Click here to read the 2009 story. Click here to read the 2010 story.
Stress Busters - January through April brings tax season. We work many many hours and see our colleagues more than our families. But, not to worry – we provide Stress Busters to help lighten the spirits. Friday lunches and Saturday breakfasts are provided to keep up our strength. We also hold contests: Chili cooking; jelly bean counting; and, maybe even tricycle racing.
